Ways To Extend Android Battery Life

With so much to do with your smartphone, you wish that the battery of your phone could possibly last longer. Although, with apps like Facebook, Whatsapp and YouTube running on your phone and continuous browsing in addition to big screens, it seems nearly impossible.
So, you might have a question in your mind, “ How can you make your Android’s battery last for a longer time?”

Well, there are a few hacks that could help the battery to sustain for a longer time. In this post, we have listed some of them to make your lives easier.

Connectivity Features
Wifi, Bluetooth, and location services(GPS) take up your battery sooner than you think. So, it is wise to turn them off, when not using. In desperate times, you can also disable the cellular connection.
To knock them off at once, turn on AirPlane Mode as it will turn off the services and save the battery power. If you have to choose between cellular data and Wifi, always choose Wifi as comparatively, Wifi drains less battery.

Close The App Once You are Done
Android users used to have app killers to knock off the apps to conserve battery but the downside of it was that they drain more battery than conserving it. However, with time Android has become smarter. You can alter a few settings and choose a number of background process that runs at a time. Follow these steps:
  • Go to Settings-> About phone->Device Information.
  • Locate Build Number and tap on it repeatedly, until you get the message that you are a developer.
  • Now go back to Settings, now you will see Developer Options. Tap on it.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page, and under Apps, tap on Background process limit.
  • By default Background process limit is set to Standard Limit, change it to At most 3 or 4 processes.
In this way, you can control the number of background processes running.

Use Internet Smartly
Not everyone has an access to Wifi, so most of the people use cellular data which drains the battery like hell. So, if you have an approach to both wifi and cellular network, also prefer Wifi.
This will not only save the data plan but also your battery. However, when you are not using any of them, it is smart to turn off both.

Disable Unwanted Notifications
You get notifications and alerts for every other app that you have installed on your Android. IT is not necessary to let your apps sync all their data instantly and automatically. You can also do it manually or limit auto-sync feature to some of the important apps. This way, you can smartly manage your battery power.

Dim The Brightness
It is obvious that you don’t need all the brightness on your screen all the time, so keeping it to the maximum is not smart and it is not easy on eyes as well. Moreover, reducing the brightness of the screen can also save battery power. You can also use the auto-brightness feature to save your time and battery.

Ditch The Animation
All those live wallpapers and animation kills the battery power faster than you think. So trust me, it is not worth it! Don’t use live wallpaper, use black or dark background instead To minimize the animation, follow these steps:.
  • Go to Settings-> About phone->Device Information.
  • Locate Build Number and tap on it repeatedly, until you get the message that you are a developer.
  • Now go back to Settings, now you will see Developer Options. Tap on it.
  • Locate Animation Scale and you will get Transition animation scale and Animator duration scale.
  • The settings might be set at x1, turn of the animation for both the options.
  • This will not only increase the battery power but will also improve the performance of the device.

Use A Battery Saver App
Maintaining battery can be a tough nut to crack, so to simplify it, you can use battery saver apps. There are hundreds of apps listed on Google Play Store under this category. Choose one according to your preferences and use it to save the battery power of your Android phone.

So, these are the quick hacks and tips that could help your Android phone’s battery sustain a little longer.
